Brooke and Mike’s gorgeous engagement session at the incredible Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
Where to start with these two….
I know…we’ll go back to June. I’m on a mini vacation with my mom, sister, and Brantley in Florida and it’s HOT. Like, elephant-sitting-on-your-chest, sweat pouring as soon as you step outside, appetite-ruining, makeup-melting, hot. My phone, at one point, gave me the temperature warning and shut off for like 45 minutes. So the four of us are walking around Pier Park in Panama City when I get a facebook message. Now, I’m not normally one to do much extra work while on vacation (I did have some sessions scheduled while I was there) but when Brooke’s name popped up, I had to respond IMMEDIATELY.
Brooke and I went to high school together and even shared a few classes. We were never close but she was always super sweet and I was loud and annoying but she seemed to tolerate me anyway. I don’t remember when I started following her on Instagram, but I had been basically virtually stalking her for a long time. When the post about her engagement popped up on my newsfeed, I secretly hoped that she would reach out to me to shoot her wedding.
She hadn’t been engaged long when I got this message and I was holding my breath hoping this was it. Seriously, ask my mom. I started gushing about my social media bestie (who had no idea she had this title) and how much I wanted to work with her for her wedding.
Wanna know what makes this situation even weirder? She had been stalking me because she loved my work. AAAHHHHHH – the planets are aligning, can you see it? So the rest of the shopping trip, which was really just us killing time before dinner, I was glued to my phone. Brooke and I talked about wedding planning, what she wanted, what I offer, and how overwhelming it all can be.
She told me she was going to talk to Mike, the handsome dude in the pictures below, to see what he thought about everything. Mike, being the realist, suggested that they look into other photographers so that they could decide if I was really the best fit for them. Don’t worry, Mike, I’m not mad! I actually recommend shopping around before booking your wedding photographer because it’s a HUGE deal. Brooke, however, had no interest in looking into anyone else and here we are (:
What you will see below:
-a gorgeous couple
-playful images that really capture how they naturally interact as a couple
-a beautiful location with a TON to offer
What you won’t see below:
-two people who INSISTED they were “awful” at taking pictures and were super uncomfortable
-Mike teasing Brooke about…well…everything
-a hundred jokes and stories we told during this session
If you’re like Mike and you want to know how to tell if a photographer is the right fit for you, start with this list of questions.
